1. Who We Are
AWO Logistics LLC ("AWO Logistics," "we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, operates the Fahan mobile application (the "App") and the website at fahanapp.com (the "Website"), collectively the "Service."
Fahan is a real-time AI voice translation application that enables spoken communication between people who speak different languages. The App processes audio in real time — transcribing speech, detecting the spoken language, translating content, and generating spoken output in the target language.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create a Fahan account, we collect your email address, a password stored exclusively in cryptographically hashed form (we never store or access your plain-text password), and your preferred native language selection (e.g., "English," "Af-Soomaali (Somali)").
2.2 Subscription and Payment Information
Payment transactions are processed entirely by our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, plan tier (weekly or monthly), and billing period. We do NOT receive, access, or store your credit card number, CVV, bank account details, or full payment credentials.
2.3 Usage and Technical Data
- Device Identifier — derived from IP address, used for subscription enforcement and abuse prevention — we do not collect hardware serial numbers, IMEI, UDID, or advertising identifiers
- Session Data — session identifiers, selected language pair, session activation status, creation timestamps
- Performance Metrics — processing latency in milliseconds, speech duration in seconds, error codes for quality monitoring
- Usage Limits — cumulative speech seconds to enforce subscription-tier caps
2.4 Audio and Translation Data
When you use voice translation, we process audio you speak into the App. Section 3 provides detailed explanation.
2.5 Support Communications
If you contact us for support, we may retain your correspondence.
3. Audio Data & Translation Processing
3.1 Real-Time Processing Pipeline
- Audio Transmission: Audio sent to servers over encrypted (TLS/HTTPS) connection.
- Speech Recognition: Neural speech recognition converts audio to text. For certain languages, specialized engines are used optimized for that language's phonetics and dialectal variations.
- Language Detection: System identifies which language was spoken and determines translation direction automatically.
- Translation: Transcribed text translated using AI translation models.
- Quality Validation: Every translation checked automatically before delivery — empty results, repetitive garbage patterns, and corrupted output caught and rejected. Failed translations trigger graceful fallback so you never receive nonsensical output.
- Voice Synthesis: Validated translations converted to natural-sounding spoken audio. Different engines may be used per language for optimal quality.
- Delivery: Translated audio plays through the App.
After processing, raw audio data is discarded. We do not store recordings of your voice.
3.2 Translation Caching
To reduce latency, we cache successful quality-validated translations. Cached data includes normalized input text (lowercased, noise annotations removed), translated output, voice audio URL, language pair, voice engine used, quality score, usage counters. Cache entries contain no user identifiers, session identifiers, IP addresses, or any information linking a cached translation to a specific individual.
3.3 Request Deduplication
Temporary deduplication records prevent duplicate processing from unstable mobile networks. Records contain request identifier, response data, latency, session. These records automatically expire and are permanently deleted after one (1) hour.
3.4 No-Speech Detection
If audio contains no recognizable speech, we generate a friendly prompt in your native language. Prompts cached by language, contain no personal data.
3.5 Conversation Transcripts
Text transcripts available in App for review. You may delete history at any time.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide Translation — process audio, transcribe, detect language, translate, validate quality, synthesize voice, deliver
- Improve Performance — cache validated translations, monitor latency/error rates/quality scores
- Enforce Usage Limits — track speech duration against subscription tier
- Prevent Abuse — verify devices, deduplicate requests, prevent account sharing
- Maintain Sessions — remember language pair within conversation
- Communicate — transactional emails about account/service changes
- Legal Compliance — process data as required by law
We do NOT use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, marketing to third parties, or any purpose other than providing and improving the Service.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Raw Audio — not retained, discarded immediately
- Deduplication Records — automatically deleted after 1 hour
- Translation Cache — retained indefinitely, contains no PII
- Session Data — retained for session duration, metadata for billing/analytics
- Account Data — retained while active, deleted on request
- System Backups — encrypted backups may retain data temporarily, purged per rotation schedule
Request account deletion anytime by contacting Section 16.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
